Judgment of the District Court of The Hague dated January 16, 2020
The applicants have a one-month-old daughter. They have given their daughter one first name. After the birth of their daughter, the mother of one of the applicants was suddenly admitted to the hospital and shortly thereafter passed away.
This sad news has led the applicant to want to name their daughter after her mother. This way, she has a memento of her mother through her daughter. Additionally, her daughter has a connection to her grandmother through the name. The premature death of the mother of the applicant has left a huge void for all family members, and the applicant wishes to thank her through this request as a tribute for the role she played as a parent in her life.
Considering the importance of the applicants, the court grants the request in writing. There was no oral hearing held. The daughter of the applicants will now be named after her grandmother (mz.).
